Scan your resume as though it is the first time you have seen it. Is it visually pleasing and easy to read with plenty of white space?
Is the format consistent and simple? Are the dates easy to find?
Did you highlight your key strengths with bullets, underlining, bold, or italics in a consistent manner without overdoing it?
Is the most important and relevant information listed first?
Did you include your name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, and the appropriate email address?
Does your objective match the position and employer for which you are applying?
Do your phrases begin with action verbs and stay in the same tense?
Did you and someone else check the spelling, grammar, and punctuation?
Have specifically detailed your accomplishments with quantifiable information without exaggerating your abilities?
Is your resume neatly printed on quality paper if you are mailing it or handing it to someone?
Did you excessively use the words "I" or "me" in your resume?
Did your name and page number on the second page, if applicable?
Did you meet with a career counselor at Career Services to review your resume?
