Wildlife Management

Instructors:
Objectives: This course for non-majors is designed to
instruct students in the identification of the vertebrates
important to the practice of wildlife management and to provide
information about the ecological characteristics and niche
relationships of the major game animals. One section of this course
is typically offered in the fall semester.

minute lectures and one 3 hour laboratory per week.
Outcomes:
Upon the successful
completion of this course a student should be able to:
- demonstrate proficiency
in the identification of the major genera of fish, amphibians,
reptiles, birds, and mammals that are regionally
important
- identify the major
families and ranges of indigenous and transient populations of game
animals
- describe the habitats
of major game animals
- describe the major
migratory routes of regionally transient game animals
- describe interactions
between respective game species
