About the Strategic Planning Process
at Slippery Rock University

“That each day Slippery Rock University becomes a better place.”
-Robert M. Smith, President

The Strategic Planning Process at Slippery Rock University guides us as an educational community preparing our students for the future.  Slippery Rock University’s strategic planning process is designed to provide the university community the strategic guidance that assures the university’s performance matches its purpose and that expected outcomes are achieved.

The Strategic Planning Steering Committee leads this effort by promoting campus-wide discussions and a spirit of collaboration to move the University forward.  The University’s strategic thinking and long-term planning is framed by significant global trends facing the next generation.  These five global trends correspond with the university’s five planning groups.

Our strategic planning process guides us in preparing the next generation to solve tomorrow’s problems. In essence, we are building a stronger tomorrow by preparing future leaders today.

At Slippery Rock University, we are proud of our achievements of the past and we look to the future with great expectations and a confidence that we will prepare our students to take on the challenges facing our world.
