SRU graduate heads Beloit Snappers media relations

Robert “Bobby” Coon, a 2012 Slippery Rock University communication graduate, has been appointed director of media relations for the Beloit [Wisc.] Snappers, a Class A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.
A native of Williamsport, Coon interned with ESPN’s Sport Science and the Williamsport Crosscutters, a single A short-season affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. He has also worked for Backyard Broadcasting and ESPN Radio Williamsport.
In his new post, he will handle all statistics, press releases, game summaries, website updates and staff and player media requests and also be in charge of team marketing. He will also handle new and existing corporate partnership accounts.
The Snapper, which started in 1982, open the 2014 season hosting the Burlington Bees April 3 at Pohlman Field, in Beloit, Wisc.
