Six SRU cross country runners earn All-Academic honors
NEW ORLEANS – Six Slippery Rock University cross country runners have landed on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic squad announced last Thursday.
In order to be eligible for All-Academic honors as an individual, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and place in the top 30 percent of the NCAA Regional Championships or the top 50 percent at the NCAA National Championship.
Stephanie Case, a biology major from Columbiana, Ohio, and Abby Michaelian, an exercise science major from Mechanicsburg, highlight The Rock's selections, with Case earning her second All-Academic honor and Michaelian picking up her third.
Also selected were: Kara Styles, an exercise science major from Windber, Angie Bagwell, an exercise science major from Shaler, Caitlin Hancox, an elementary education major from Meadville, and Travis Arrigoni, a physical education major from Canonsburg.
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference led all Division II conferences with a total of 58 women and 27 men earning All-Academic honors.
