SRU graduate earns PASCEB post

Kate Hepner, a 2011 Slippery Rock University education major from Bellevue and now a second-grade teacher with the Northgate School District, has been named to the Pennsylvania Association of Student Council Executive Board.

The PASC’s mission is to offer year-round opportunities for middle level and high school students and their advisers to develop and apply leadership and life skills in order to improve themselves, their school and communities.

Hepner has served as a staff member for the past six years, adviser, leadership instructor and now is the assistant director at PASC Alvernia University Blue Middle Level Summer Workshop.

While at SRU, Hepner was involved in Student Government Association, the Green and White Society, Green Fund Advisory Board and served as a student representative to the University Academic Scholarship Committee. Following graduation, she served as bookkeeper with the Slippery Rock University Alumni Association.
