Rock women’s cross country team earns All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Slippery Rock University women's cross country program earned All-Academic team honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In order to be eligible to earn All-Academic team honors, all members of the active roster must post a collective cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and the team must register a score at its respective NCAA Regional Championship.

The Slippery Rock women's team was one of 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference programs to earn the All-Academic honor last fall. The PSAC led all NCAA Division II conferences with that number.

The Rock women's cross country team, which carries one of the largest rosters in the country at 47 members, posted a collective grade point average of 3.42 following the fall semester.

Slippery Rock placed sixth at the PSAC Championships and fifth at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships as a team.
