SRU 1964 graduate earns Pa. Sports Hall of Fame honor
PITTSBURGH – Ed McCloskey, a 1964 Slippery Rock University physical education graduate and Rock baseball player, will be among the 10 athletes inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Western Chapter.
McCloseky was also a longtime high school coach and is retired from the Mt. Lebanon School District.
The 10 will be inducted at a May 5 dinner at the Four Points by Sheraton Pittsburgh North, Marshall.
The 2012 class also includes George Mihalik, SRU head football coach (See Good News: Feb. 22, 2012), who was cited for amassing 161 victories in his 24-year coaching career; 12th among NCAA Division II coaches.
