SRU math professor wins education award

Judy Werner, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of mathematics, has received the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics Outstanding Contribution to Mathematics Education Award.
The award was presented at the council's annual conference.
The award recognizes educators who have promoted the study of mathematics in the state.
Werner has served the council in various positions on the executive board and has been president of Women in Mathematics Education. She has served as a reviewer for the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education.
Werner joined the SRU faculty in 1998.
