Men’s Ice Hockey Club at SRU takes CHMA title
The Men’s Ice Hockey Club at Slippery Rock University won the College Hockey Mid-America championship for the second consecutive year this winter with an 11-3 league record and added the CHMA playoff title last weekend in competition at the Wheeling (W. Va.) Civic Center.
SRU defeated Pitt by a 5-4 score in the championship game of the playoffs.
The SRU club team will make its inaugural appearance in the American College Hockey Association Division I national tournament March 5-9 at the University of Delaware’s Fred Rust Arena.
SRU will play top-seeded Lindenwood at 4 p.m., Saturday, in the first round of the tournament.
