Slippery Rock University’s men's basketball team will make its second trip to the NCAA Division II tournament in the last three seasons when it takes on Winston-Salem State University in Atlantic Regional first-round action.
The NCAA game will tip off at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, at West Liberty University in West Virginia.
The Rock, which claimed Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference runner-up honors last weekend under the direction of fifth-year head coach Kevin Reynolds, own a 22-8 record and received the seventh seed in the eight-team regional competition.
The regional berth is only the fifth earned by a Rock men's basketball team. SRU also appeared in the NCAA tournament in 1978, 1990, 1991 and 2011.
In its most-recent NCAA tournament appearance, SRU lost a 117-73, first-round decision to eventual regional champion West Liberty on the Hilltoppers' home court.
