SRU Green and White Society plans 'Backpacks to Briefcases' program

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -Students and alumni of Slippery Rock University will be on hand as SRU's Green and White Society hosts its annual "Backpacks to Briefcases" at 4:45 p.m., April 4, at the Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference Center.

The B2B event focuses on helping students transition to their professional careers by giving them the chance to network with alumni and learn about job opportunities or internships.

This year's program will focus on students in SRU's College of Education and the College of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts.

The program opens with "Networking101," a presentation by John Snyder, associate director of SRU's Career Education and Development Office. Students will then network with alumni from 6-8 p.m.

Green and White Society members act as ambassadors for the SRU Alumni Association. The organization sponsors a number of campus events, including a Campus and Community Clean Up and the annual Homecoming Pep Rally
