The Slippery Rock University Piano Trio, comprised of SRU faculty members violinist Warren Davidson, cellist Paige Riggs, and pianist Nanette Kaplan Solomon along with clarinetist Candice Kiser, an instructor in the music department, have been invited to perform at the annual Pennsylvania Music Educators Association State In-Service Conference.
The SRU Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Stephen Hawk, professor of music, will open the two-day conference April 18 with a mini-concert.
The Bayfront Convention Center in Erie will host the conference.
The SRU trio was one of only two faculty groups chosen to perform from a wide and competitive pool.
The trio will perform Peter Schickele's “Quartet for Clarinet, Violin, Cello and Piano” April 19, sharing the program with the Crimson Winds, a faculty woodwind quintet from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
