'Wellness Expo' offers 40 displays

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -Slippery Rock University offers a "Wellness Expo" from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center.

The program has been expanded from previous years to incorporate multiple aspects of wellness and will include 40 display tables.

Students and community residents will have access to free blood pressure screenings, body fat composition tests and information on eating and sleep disorders, the importance of physical activity and the Exercise is Medicine program.

"We're trying to disseminate credible health and wellness information to students and the public," said Kimberly Smith, SRU associate professor of exercise and rehabilitative sciences.

She said more than 200 SRU students majoring in physical education, public health and exercise science will lead the expo.
