SRU tennis coach scores 250th career win

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Matt Meredith, Slippery Rock University women's tennis coach and a 1992 secondary education graduate, recorded his 250th career victory Sunday when his squad beat hosting NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rival University of Charleston, 6-3.

The win improved Meredith's 15-season career record to 250-97 and gave this year's Rock squad a 9-6 record. While at SRU, Meredith was an outstanding player on the tennis team.

Meredith will look to improve his winning record when SRU travels to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a 3;30 p.m. match today, then hosts defending conference champion California University of Pennsylvania and division rival Clarion on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
