McIntire earns SRU 2014 Outstanding Service Award

Nicholas McIntire, constituent services and database assurance manager in Slippery Rock University's Advancement Services, was presented the 2014 SRU President's Award for Outstanding Service last Saturday at the annual Academic Honors Convocation.
Cheryl Norton, SRU president, presented the award to McIntire and said he was  "consistently a top-performer in the University Advancement Division." McIntire was also cited for helping bridge the gap left in Annual Giving and SRU's Phonathon program.

"He operates under a 'Can Do-style,' including handling details of the Campus Family Campaign, and personally rallied the final few staff/faculty donors to meet the 60 percent
participation goal," according to a nominator.
"His knowledge of the donor base and the segmentations important for the spring calling, and his willingness to take the extra time and effort to ensure that the new employees understood the system, has made the transition for other staff members practically seamless. Beyond that,
his natural curiosity - and competence - has prompted him to do data analysis that is already
proving very valuable as the new assistant director of development makes program adjustments for greater efficiency and a better return on investment."
The President's Award for Outstanding Service was created in 1981 through the generosity of the late Robert and Donna McMullen, long-standing patrons of Slippery Rock University, and continues through the generosity of their son, Doug, and his wife, Linda. The late Robert McMullen was a member of SRU's class of 1951 and served as chair of the Slippery Rock University Foundation Inc. board of directors.
The award honors outstanding accomplishments and/or consistent outstanding service over a longer term. Nominees can be fulltime faculty or staff, however, part-time employees or individuals whose work is university-related can also be considered.

Slippery Rock University provides students with a comprehensive learning experience that intentionally combines academic instruction with enhanced educational and learning opportunities that make a positive difference in their lives.
