Slippery Rock increases parking fines

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -Slippery Rock University faculty, staff and students are advised to "Read the Signs," especially when parking in Slippery Rock Borough.

The price of parking tickets is increasing in early June.

Slippery Rock Borough Council voted April 2 to raise parking fines from $15 to $40. The appeal process remains unchanged.

Neva Stanger, borough solicitor, said there would be a 60-day enactment period, to let community members know about the increase.

One councilman reported it had been at least 15 years since fines increased.

The borough has no parking meters, but has time restricted spaces along its main streets that could activate enforcement.
