SRU’s Wajda garners ACBSP teaching excellence award

Theresa Wajda, associate professor in Slippery Rock University’s School of Business, has been named a Region 2 Teaching Excellence Award recipient by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

Wajda, who joined the SRU faculty in 2002, is also being considered for one of two International Teaching Excellence Awards given by the accrediting body. She was required to submit a nomination packet and recommendations as part of the selection process.

The ACBSP, based in Overland Park, Kan., is the leading accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating and rewarding teaching excellence. Its mission promotes continuous improvement and recognizes excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world.

“Dr. Wajda is certainly an asset to our School of Business and a deserving recipient of this honor,” said David Culp, chair of SRU’s School of Business. “Her excellent teaching skills, volunteer efforts and leadership made her an outstanding candidate. I was happy to recommend her, and congratulate her on being named an award recipient.”

Wajda will be an ACBSP guest at the Salute to Regions Luncheon, part of the June ACBSP Annual Conference in Indianapolis.
