Piano Extravaganza’ on tap                        

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University piano students who study under Nanette Kaplan Solomon, professor of music, will combine their talents for the ninth annual Piano Extravaganza, an evening of music for four hand piano, at 7:30 p.m., April 29.

             The concert, part of SRU’s annual Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, is in Swope Music Hall.

             The concert will include works by Beethoven, Bizet, Faure, MacDowell, Dvorak, Brahms and a special four-hand piano arrangement of Gershwin's“Rhapsody in Blue.”

            Students participating are: Katie Amerson, a music education major from Butler; Allison Carter, a music education major from Titusville; Jessica Detky, a music education major from Sharpsville; Nina Federico, a music therapy major from McKees Rocks; Aaron Gainer, a music therapy major from Lebanon; Eric Kochanowski, a music major from Sarver; Karyn McIntyre, a music major from New Castle; Allison Martin, a music therapy major from Ambridge; Bridgette Jean Powers, an English major from East Butler; Lauren Rieger, a music education major from St. Charles, Mo.; Kayce Soros, a music therapy major from Fedonia, and Doris Tang, a music therapy major from Malaysia.

           The suggested donation is $5 for the general public; $3 for students.
