SRU Saxophone Quartets perform

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -The Slippery Rock University Saxophone Quartets will perform tango, jazz and French classical pieces when the group presents at a concert at 7:30 p.m., April 23, in SRU's Swope Music Hall.

Jason Kush, SRU instructor of music, will direct the group.

The program will feature works by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Bob Mintzer, Gabriel Pierne and others.

Kush said the quartets are comprised of 10 SRU students majoring in music, music education and music therapy. They play soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones.

Andrew Lake, a music major from Pittsburgh, will present a saxophone recital of classic and contemporary songs, including music by Bach, at 7:30 p.m., April 24, in Swope Music Hall. He will be accompanied by a pianist.

The suggested donation for both concerts is $3 for students, $5 for the public.
