SRU PE instructor qualifies for 2013 Senior Olympic Games

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa - Shelly Klinek, an instructor in Slippery Rock University’s physical education department, has qualified to compete in the 2013 Senior Olympic Games in Cleveland, Ohio. She will compete in basketball.

Klinek, who joined the SRU faculty last August, is a member of the early childhood committee and fitness committee for the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She is health division chair for the Ohio Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

"I am extremely grateful to be still able to compete as a senior. I am also very honored and proud to be an SRU faculty member. The department and students at SRU are fantastic. Everyone is top-rate,” Klinek said.
