SRU lacrosse team’s Laubach makes PSAC All-Conference team

Lauren Laubach, a Slippery Rock University exercise science major from New Park and a standout lacrosse player, has been named to the All-Conference team by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Laubach, a midfielder, earned her first career postseason honor as a member of the All-PSAC third team.

She led SRU this season in almost every statistical category, compiling a career high 52 points on 42 goals and 10 assists and setting a new single-season school record with 118 draw controls. Laubach also led the team with 23 caused turnovers and ranked second on the team with 32 ground balls.

She spent nearly the entire year ranked No. 1 in the nation in draw controls per game, ending the season ranked second in the nation in the category.

Laubach has shattered the SRU record for career draw controls with 271 through three years, a record she has held since the end of her sophomore year. Her 118 draw controls this season topped her own single-season mark of 104 from last year.

The Rock finished the 2013 season with an 8-8 overall record.
