SRU ROTC, basketball team seeks golfers

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -Calling all golfers! Slippery Rock University' Army ROTC program and the SRU basketball squad will host separate golf scrambles this spring and are looking for anyone who enjoys the game.

The ROTC scramble opens at noon today at Oakview Golf Club in Slippery Rock.

The four-person, "best-ball" scramble includes 18 holes of golf, cart, a light lunch and beverages and snacks. Only soft spikes are permitted.

Cost is $240 per foursome and sign-up can be completed by calling the ROTC Office at 724.738.2019.

The second annual SRU Men's Basketball Golf Outing is June 15 at Aubrey's Dubbs Dred Golf Course in Butler. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with a 9 a.m., shotgun start.

Funds raised will support basketball team scholarships.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams with best overall scores. Additional contests are planned. Fees for a foursome are $340; or $85 for individual golfers.
