PSAC elects SRU’s McComas SID’s president
Bob McComas, Slippery Rock University sports information director and 1982 SRU graduate, was elected president of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors organization Monday.
McComas, who joined SRU in 2000, has served as the organization’s vice president since 2009, and had previously served as secretary.
In addition to his leadership on the conference level, McComas has served the past five years as the Atlantic Region representative on the Division II SID Association’s board of directors and seven years as the Division II representative on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association board of directors.
He is also the national coordinator for both the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers weekly regional and national polls.
McComas was recently re-elected to a second term as president of the Slippery Rock Lions Club as well as a second year as the local district’s extension chairman. In July he begins service as a Lions zone chairman.
He earned his SRU master’s degree in recreation.
