SRU graduate lands Bottlebrush exhibit

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa - Trevor King, a May Slippery Rock University art graduate from Slippery Rock and now enrolled in the master’s program in art at the University of Michigan, has his work on display at the Bottlebrush Gallery in Harmony.

“The artworks selected for this exhibit are ruminations on the past, present and future. I have been inspired by drawing connections between my own experiences and the lives of my father and grandfather, both individuals whose trade led to a certain career. I hope to create a dialogue between labor and artistry,” King said.

King, who was a student worker in the SRU University Public Relations Office’s graphic design department, was awarded a full academic fellowship to attend U of M. He starts his program in the fall..

His exhibit, including a number of sculpture pieces, remains on display through May 31 at the gallery located at 539 Main St. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily.

Slippery Rock University is Pennsylvania's premier public residential university. Slippery Rock University provides students with a comprehensive learning experience that intentionally combines academic instruction with enhanced educational and learning opportunities that make a positive difference in their lives.
