Jeff Lang, a 1991 Slippery Rock University secondary education graduate and a 20-year assistant football coach in the Gov. Mifflin School District, was among those inducted into the 10th class of the Berks County [Pa.] Football Coaches Hall of Fame.
The hall, inaugurated in 2003, has 58 members. BCFCA members select new members.
Lang has played a key role in helping the Mifflin Mustangs win six Inter-County League and Berks Football League Section 1 titles over the past eight seasons.
As offensive line coach he has helped develop five of the last six Berks Offensive Lineman of the Year recipients and nine All-Berks offensive linemen in the past six seasons. Mick Vecchio is the head coach.
Lang played at Shaler High School, then as guard at SRU, where he started each of his 41 games. He was a first-team all-conference lineman and a second-team All-America selection as a senior. He was also a team captain and earned the Ken Grauer team Most Valuable Player Award.
The class was inducted June 3 before the start of the 14th Annual Voices Berks Senior Football Classic at Gov. Mifflin Stadium.
