SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -Emily McKissick, a Slippery Rock University exercise science major from Slippery Rock, has received the new $750 Clerical Education Scholarship from SRU clerical staff employees who support the scholarship. On-going opportunities for supporting the scholarship exist.
"I was very excited to receive this scholarship. I appreciate the award, and it will assist me as I continue my studies in exercise science," McKissick said.
The scholarship, awarded through the Office of Financial Aid and managed by the SRU Foundation Inc., goes to dependents of an SRU clerk typist, clerk steno or administrative assistant who are members of the American Federal of State, County and Municipal Employees union. McKissick is the daughter of Brenda McKissick, SRU clerk typist II for international initiatives.
The recipients must have a grade-point average of 2.75 or better and be enrolled full time. He or she must be a full-time student and have amassed at least 30 credits.
