SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –Slippery Rock University’s Government Contracting Assistance Center will host "An Introduction to Complying with Labor Laws in Federal Government Contracts" seminar from 9 a.m. to noon, Aug. 16, at the Marriott Pittsburgh North, Cranberry Township.
The federal Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division enforces federal labor laws related to topics that include minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping and prevailing wages on federal contracts for construction and the purchase of goods and services.
Brian Heeter, assistant district director at the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division's Pittsburgh Office, will discuss the laws and provide information on how to comply. Topics to be addressed include the Fair Labor Standards Act, McNamara-O'Hare Service Contract Act and the Davis-Bacon Act.
