2005 graduate receives arts fellowship honor
Marcy Yonkey-Clayton, a 2005 Slippery Rock University graduate, has received the Individual Arts Fellowship in Dance Choreography Award from the South Carolina Arts Commission.
Yonkey-Clayton was one of the three artists honored by the state with this prestigious award for her work at Columbia College, where she is an assistant professor in the dance program. This award is only given once every four years and selected by a panel of out-of-state judges in their respected fields.
Yonkey-Clayton directs CCdanceLAB Improvisers and Friends at Columbia and performs with the Power Company Dance Collective. She has choreographed and performed at numerous venues, including the Columbia Museum of Art.
