Best Online Colleges cites SRU special education program

NEW YORK, N.Y., a leading resource for online education, has released its 2013-14 national lists recognizing the best online programs and has named Slippery Rock University's special education programs as one of the best in the nation.

The lists are created to help parents and students make better decisions when choosing institutions of higher learning.

"We are excited to see our online special education program receiving the recognition they clearly deserve," said Cheryl Norton, SRU president. "We know online education is different from traditional classroom education, and we are working to continue to expand and build on our quality online offerings. The most recent example is our new master's in business administration degree, which is a blend of online and traditional classes. These listings point to our ongoing efforts and dedication to quality online education."

"Our College of Education is pleased to see our special education program spotlighted by BestOnline Colleges," said A. Keith Dils, dean of the college. "This program has drawn interest from traditional students as well as teachers already working in the field looking to expand their expertise in a convenient - and often from a distance that would make a commute to campus impossible. We currently have a record 250 students enrolled in the program"
