SRU student earns ‘MWA H&W Lifesaver Award’

Christopher Lefever, a Slippery Rock University exercise science major from Reading who is starting his doctor of physical therapy studies this fall at SRU, has been honored as a MWA Monthly Coaches Recognition Award winner for his outstanding internship work at Verizon Wireless Corporate Wellness.

The “MWA H&W Lifesaver Award,” includes a certificate and a travelling trophy. It is the first time in three years the award was presented to an internship student.

Lefever was cited for filming and editing intermediate and advanced yoga session videos, editing the dynamic warm-ups and stretching video, editing and producing the entire MWA National Dance Day video for VZTube and for successful projects in Cranberry Woods.

“He has completed many fitness assessments, developed a plethora of exercise prescriptions, taught a variety of group exercise classes, assisted employees in triathlon training and completed many personal training sessions,” said Lee Anne Davison, midwest area senior health and wellness coordinator for Verizon Wireless.
