SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership at Slippery Rock University will host a series of three Compass Leadership Program Summits beginning Sept. 25.
All sessions begin at 5 p.m. in 319 Smith Student Center. Participating students are required to attend all three sessions.
The opening summit will allow participants to join in interactive workshops based on an introduction to leadership. The sessions will include diversity basics, critical thinking and how to get involved.
The Level Two Summit, Oct. 22, will be based on an understanding of one's self through leadership. The workshop will offer group dynamics, communication, self-assessment and ethics/values.
The Level Three Summit, Nov. 21, will offer discussions about how leadership training fits into the student's future leadership roles. It will detail conflict resolution, strategic planning, leadership after graduation, global citizenship and using leadership as a motivator.
Students may preregister at the center and walk-ins are welcome at each summit. For more information or questions visit the CSIL at 234 Smith Student Center.
The Compass Leadership Program is a three-level leadership program that focuses on an introduction of leadership, understanding of one's self through leadership, and leadership within the community. Students must complete each level before continuing with the next summit and level of the program.
