NextGen Scholarship winners present projects

Four Slippery Rock University graduates and a current student who minored in nonprofit leadership offered through the University’s department of professional studies recently presented their projects on campus as NextGen Scholarship winners.

The are: Anita Williams, a professional studies major from Beaver who graduated in 2012; Akaisha Yancy, 2012 social work graduate from Pittsburgh; Tashana Pulliam, 2012 social work and criminology graduate from Erie; Kevin McNair, 2012 marketing graduate from Pittsburgh; and Cherie Olivis, a current health services administration major from Pittsburgh.

As students they received $4,500 each from the Nonprofit Alliance's Kellogg Foundation funded program that supports students entering the nonprofit sector. Their campus presentations allowed the scholarship winners to share their experiences and discuss what they hope to contribute to the nonprofit sector.
