SRU graduate, former faculty member heads Lark Enterprises

Susan Lautenbacher, a 2000 political science graduate, a 2001 special education master’s graduate and a former assistant professor of special education at Slippery Rock University, has been named chief executive officer of Lark Enterprises Inc. in New Castle.

Lark Enterprises is a multi-faceted organization providing vocational evaluations, training and employment services to persons with disabilities or individuals experiencing other barriers to employment.

Lautenbacher earned her doctorate degree in administrative and policy studies, social and comparative analysis in education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Before joining the SRU faculty in 2011, she spent several years as a classroom teacher for emotional support and autism at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Academy in Zelienople.
