SRU principal certificate leads Johnson to athletic director post

Bruce Johnson, who earned his principal certificate at Slippery Rock University, is the new athletic director at Green Local Schools near Akron, Ohio.

Johnson had previously served as assistant athletic director at High Point Christian Academy in North Carolina where he also taught social studies courses.

He had worked as an athletic director for Streetsboro City Schools and Howland Local Schools and has coached both basketball and baseball. Both school districts are in northeastern Ohio.

Johnson received his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and his master’s degree from Liberty University, according to
