SRU marketing graduate’s skills help Children’s Hospital
Nicole McAfoose, a 2006 Slippery Rock University marketing graduate and a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army, has put her classroom learning to good use in organizing board game and cash donations to Children’s Hospital.
McAfoose, a full-time command post controller for the 171st Air Refueling Wing in Findlay, organized the event by involving members of the National Guard as participants, according to a recent story carried on Triblive.com.
After obtaining the game donations, she arranged for guardsmen to visit and play games with the children. The event also raised some $500 for the hospital.
McAfoose told the news service that in addition to playing games with the children, “We gave them dog tags and medals for being brave and just had a great day.”
