SRU grants 12 faculty members tenure

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – A dozen Slippery Rock University faculty members were granted tenure with the start of fall semester.

In order to be considered for tenure, a faculty member must be at the rank of assistant professor or above and have earned a master's degree plus 10 hours of graduate credits in their field and have at least four years teaching experience.

Those receiving tenure were:

Frances Amatucci, Funsun Gonul, Fred Webb and Donald Mong, all associate professor in the School of Business; Rachelle Bouchat, assistant professor of mathematics; Aaron Cowan, assistant professor of history; Christopher Cubero, assistant professor in the SRU Counseling Center; Patrick Harvey, associate professor of criminology and criminal justice; Sean Macmillan and Barbara Westman, both assistant professors of art; and Manuel Valera, assistant professor of physics and pre-engineering.
