SRU criminology major addresses crime watch group

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – John Barton, a Slippery Rock University a criminology and criminal justice major from Ellwood City, is combining his academic interests with being involved in his community.

Barton, a non-traditional student, recently presented a program defining community policing and it’s principals and describing the benefits and importance of citizen involvement as part of the Ellwood City Crime Watch Organization meeting.

His presentation included remarks regarding the model crime watch program he is involved in, according to a story on www.EllwoodCity.org.
