SRU Criminology Club hosts HSI agents

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - David Abbate, assistant special agent with the Pittsburgh Office of Homeland Security Investigation, and Tim Taucher, supervisory special agent with HIS, will present a session on careers with the HIS at Slippery Rock University Nov. 7.

The 12:30 p.m. lecture, hosted by the Criminology Club at SRU, will be in 111 Spotts World Culture Building. A question-and-answer session will follow their remarks.

HSI conducts complex domestic and international investigations targeting often highly sophisticated transnational organizations seeking to criminally exploit travel and commerce routes through the illegal movement of people and goods.

HSI is a component of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the largest investigative agency in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security with more than 20,000 employees in more than 400 offices around the world.

The agency has an annual budget of more than $5 billion.
