Runner earns trip to National Championships

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –Stephanie Case, a biology major from Columbiana, Ohio, finished fourth overall at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships Saturday at Lock Haven to earn an individual berth in the National Championships in Joplin, Mo.

The Rock finished seventh in the team standings at the regional meet.

The top five overall finishers and the top three teams at the regional meet earn an invite to the Nov. 17 National Championships.

Case placed fourth, rebounding from a 12th-place finish two weeks ago at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships. She covered the 6,000-meter course in a time of 21:07.

Katie Spratford of Shippensburg won the race in 20:20.

The top 25 overall finishers are named to the All-Region team.
