Slippery Rock University led all institutions in the Atlantic Region with four selections to the Daktronics women's soccer All-Region team. All four Rock players were named to the first team.
SRU was the only school in the region with four selections and the only school to land more than one player on the first team. All four advance to the All-America ballot.
Representing SRU are: goalkeeper Dana O'Neill of Leonardtown, Md.; defender Emer Flatley of Galway, Ireland; defender Lauren Impey of Northampton, England; and forward Lucy Hannon of Galway, Ireland. All are physical education majors at SRU.
Flatley is a repeat selection on the first team, the only player in the region to repeat as a first team pick this fall. The other three SRU selections are first-time Daktronics All-Region honorees. The four were also named to All-Conference honors in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
SRU finished the 2012 season with a 14-6-3 overall record. The Rock won its third PSAC title in program history and advanced, for the second consecutive year, to the NCAA Round of 16, the deepest national tournament run the program has made.
The Rock has now posted 17 consecutive winning seasons, all of which include 10 or more wins, a streak that ranks as the eighth best in Division II history.
