SRU graduate heads North Dakota hunter education

John Mazur, a 2004 Slippery Rock University parks and recreation management graduate, has been named the hunter education coordinator for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.

Prior to joining the department, Mazur had worked as a private land biologist at the Chase Lake Wetland Management District with Ducks Unlimited. He earned his master’s in business administration from the University of Mary, according to the Bismarck Tribune.

He told the newspaper he plans to first familiarize himself with the history of hunter education in North Dakota. His duties include reviewing all reported hunting accidents.

Mazur is also a North Dakota National Guard officer.
