August 11, 2010 SRU to WOW newly arriving students Aug. 26-29 SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – More than 650 Slippery Rock University upperclassmen, faculty and staff volunteers will be on hand Aug. 26-29 to provide the traditional SRU welcome as more than 1,800 new students arrive at the residence halls for the opening of fall semester. WOW! is SRU’s traditional “Weekend of Welcome” program.

July 23, 2010 Slippery Rock University gifts exhibit to Heinz History Center SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Foundation has gifted its “Sisters in Healthcare History Project” to the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. The project features a collection of artifacts showcasing the significant contributions of 16 orders of Roman Catholic sisters who helped develop health care in western Pennsylvania from 1847-1969.

She replaces Robert Downey Jr., who accepted a position as police chief at California University of Pennsylvania.

In addition, AmeriCorp members and the SRU Student Government Association will join the National Parks Service 9/11National Day of Service and Remembrance initiative in Shanksville.
