Two SRU Army ROTC cadets earn
second lieutenant bars 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University’s Army ROTC program will commission two second lieutenants into the U.S. Army at 10 a.m. Friday ceremonies in the Advanced Technology and Science Hall.

Receiving commissions from Lt. Col. Patrick Callahan, head of the University’s award-winning Reserve Officer Training Corp., will be:

• Brian Morrow, a political science major from Conneaut Lake, who graduated in May. He will commission into the Pennsylvania National Guard Engineer Corps, reporting to the Officer Basic Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Mich. His first duty station is the 856 Engineer Co.; and

• Ruth Pippin, an athletic training major from Kossuth, who graduated in July. She will be commission into the Pennsylvania National Guard Quartermasters, reporting to Officer Basic Course at Fort Lee Va., in March. Her first duty station is A company 128th at Clearfield.
