SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Government Contracting Assistance Center and California University of Pennsylvania’s Government Agency Coordination Office will host an “Accounting for Government Contracts” seminar from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
The free session will be at the Regional Learning Alliance, Cranberry Township.
“Accounting for government contracting purposes may require a completely different accounting system than that used by many businesses. Contractors must understand the accounting regulations, standards and requirements of the government as well as the audit process of the Defense Contract Audit Agency if they are involved in government contracts,” said Renee Decker, government contract specialist in SRU’s GCAC.
Seminar presenters from Wessel & Co., a certified public accounting and business consulting firm from Johnstown, will discuss the basics of accounting for government contracts and the DCAA audit process.
For additional information or to register for this seminar, call Decker at 724.738.2346.
