SRU Alumni Association plans ‘Disney in Concert’ excursion

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Alumni Association is organizing an April 15 trip to hear the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra PNC Pops perform music made popular in Walt Disney films. The 8 p.m. concert is at Heinz Hall.

Reservations are available through the Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference center at 724.738.2018.

"Disney in Concert" will feature music, film clips and artist renderings from such Disney feature films as “Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King,” “Mary Poppins” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” A dessert reception for SRU guests will follow.

“We have great group seats, but they are limited. The prices reflect a significant savings over tickets purchased independently,” said Deborah Baker, director of special events at SRU.

Tickets prices are as follows for the general public:

  • $98-dress circle, reception and transportation;

  • $86-dress circle, reception without transportation;

  • $60-family circle, reception and transportation;

  • $48-family circle, reception without transportation.

SRU student tickets in the family circle are $40, with or without transportation, and $25 in gallery seating, with or without transportation.

Coach transportation leaves the alumni house at 6:15 p.m.

Refunds will not be issued unless the trip or performance is canceled.
