Two SRU Army ROTC cadets earn second lieutenant bars
Two Slippery Rock University Army ROTC cadets, Brian Morrow, a political science major from Conneaut Lake, and Ruth Pippin, an athletic training major from Kossuth, have earned second lieutenant commissions.
Morrow, who graduated in May, will commission into the Pennsylvania National Guard Engineer Corps, reporting to the Officer Basic Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Mich. His first duty station is the 856 Engineer Co.
Pippin, who graduated in July, will be commission into the Pennsylvania National Guard Quartermasters, reporting to Officer Basic Course at Fort Lee Va., in March. Her first duty station is A company 128th at Clearfield.
The pair will receive their second lieutenant bars at 10 a.m. Friday ceremonies in the Advanced Technology and Science Hall. Lt. Col. Patrick Callahan, head of the University’s award-winning Reserve Officer Training Corp, will lead the ceremonies.
