Whoooooo, sessions seek ghosts at SRU’s Old Stone House

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – There is clearly an abundance of local interest in ghosts. The Old Stone House, managed by Slippery Rock University, is hosting four “Ghost Hunting” sessions in its remaining schedule and advance registrations are nearing capacity.

The Center for Paranormal Study and Investigation, a local, non-profit organization dedicated to seeking truth in the paranormal, is leading the 8:30-11:30 p.m., sessions at the Butler County landmark, once known as a stagecoach stop, inn and tavern.

“We are just about sold out for most of the dates,” said Jennifer Melnick, an SRU graduate student in history and assistant at the Old Stone House.

Remaining sessions are July 1, Aug. 5, Sept. 2 and Oct. 7. Reservations, limited to 15 participants per session, are $10 and may be made by calling 724.738.4964.

Participants will learn to use ghost-hunting equipment and will participate in the paranormal investigation.

The Old Stone House is located at the junction of routes 8, 173, and 528, south of Slippery Rock.
