AGAIN HOST PMEA DISTRICT 5 HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ FESTIVAL; SATURDAY
CONCERT
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Guest directors Dr.
Keith Winking of Texas State University and Dr. David Glover,
assistant professor of music, will put music students from 10
regional high schools through their paces when Slippery Rock
University hosts the Pennsylvania Music Education Association
District 5 Jazz Festival this weekend, including a 2 p.m. Saturday
[Jan. 29] public performance.
SRU
has hosted the festival for high school jazz musicians since 1997
under the direction of Dr. Stephen Hawk, SRU associate professor of
music. The student musicians will rehearse throughout the day
Friday in Swope Music Hall before the Saturday performance. Concert
admission is $3
