Rock climbing, kayaking programs at SRU open to area youngsters
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's Outdoor Adventures program at the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center will offer a one-day program in rock climbing and a one-day program in kayaking to area children.
The "Rock Climbing for Kids" program is Saturday and the "Kayak for Kids" program is Feb. 7. The rock climbing program will make use of the ARC's climbing wall, and the kayak program will make use of the ARC's pool.
Both program will offer sessions divided by school grade levels. The 8:30-10 a.m. sessions are for those in grades 1-6; the 10-11:30 a.m. sessions are for those in grades 7-12.
ARC members are admitted free; non-ARC members pay $5. Pre-registration is required for all participants. Call 724.738.2883 for details.
